Apple will get TSMC's initial 2nm technology, apparent report says

M3 is built on a 3nm process

Rumour assessment   🤯 Likely

A new rumor suggests Apple has already lined up for much of TSMC's early 2nm output, but this is perhaps the clearest report yet future. has not yet left the supply chain.

Apple has saturated TSMC's 3nm production with the A17 Pro and M3 family of processors, so the company is undoubtedly planning to do so again for the next process. However, the 2nm generation may not arrive for some time, as it is not expected to enter production until 2025.

According to the Digitimes headline, which will be released on January 25, Apple will get TSMC's original 2nm performance. Previous rumors suggest that this will include the iPhone 17 Pro line, which is due out in late 2025.

Sometimes supply chain rumors are too intrusive, like a meteorologist predicting warm weather in the summer. We didn't need an official report to know it was true.

We'll hear more about Apple's investment in the 2nm process closer to 2025. At the moment, M3 still needs to reveal the Ultra level in the 3nm process.
