Rumors suggest Apple's infinite canvas app Freeform will get a new Scenes feature in iOS 18. it improves navigation on large boards.

Freeform is Apple's attempt to create an infinite canvas app and collaboration tool. It allows users to pin images, links, text and more to a board that can be scrolled endlessly in any direction.

Navigating a nearly endless board can be challenging without the ability to easily jump to different locations. That's where the rumored iOS 18 feature will help.

The new feature will supposedly be called “Scenes” and will allow users to select specific sections of the Freeform board to quickly navigate to. These will act as anchor points that exist as part of the UI that appears next to the zoom controls.

Scenes can be edited, shared, and synced via iCloud. Collaborators will also be able to use the created scenes.

Switching between scenes is possible using soft arrows or keyboard commands. To move between scenes, use the Option + Command + ] keys or [ to move to the next or previous scene, respectively.

Apple is constantly developing new features for its applications and operating systems, but not all of them make it to the final version. It's possible that such a feature could be released in iOS 18 and macOS 15, but the reliability of the anonymous industry sources speaking to MacRumors cannot be verified.

New operating systems such as iOS 18 and macOS 15 will be announced at WWDC in June. After a summer beta testing period, they will be available to the public in September after the fall iPhone announcement.
