Delta Emulator changes logo after Adobe legal threat

Developer Delta is being threatened with legal action by Adobe, forcing the game's emulator to change its icon.

On Friday, game emulator Delta updated its icon to make it a little unusual. Instead of a partial triangle representing its namesake, the fourth Greek letter delta, the upper part of the icon appears to have been broken off and shifted to the side.

Mastodon's post explains the change as a threat of legal action. Instead of a competing app market or app developer, the problem came from Creative Cloud maker Adobe.

This post, as well as the App Store listing of Delta's apps, claim that Adobe is “threatening legal action because they think our logos are too similar, so we changed them!”

The new version features an “inspired design” by Caroline Moore that somewhat parodies the original Delta logo.

AppleInsider has contacted Adobe for comment.

The logo change is unfortunate, especially since the App Store has started allowing emulator submissions. Delta is a leading company in iPhone emulation, and changing a brand identity such as a logo can be especially disruptive at such an important time.
