Today, Apple released long-awaited USB-C updates to its three Mac accessories: the Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Mouse. Currently, only one, very expensive version of the new Magic Keyboard is available in the Apple Store. But don't worry, you can still get the USB-C Magic Keyboard in a few different flavors and for a lower price.
USB-C Magic Keyboards Now Available for Standalone Purchase
There's only one new USB-C Magic Keyboard prominently displayed at the Apple Store: the model with Touch ID and a numeric keypad.
This led to a lot of initial confusion over whether an even more compact model without a numeric keypad was available.
Good news: It is available, and you can still buy it with or without Touch ID.
Here is the full lineup of USB-C Magic Keyboard options that Apple currently sells:
- Magic Keyboard $99: This is the compact model without Touch ID.
- Magic Keyboard with Touch ID $149: This is the compact model with Touch ID.
- Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad $179 in white, $199 in black: The largest, most feature-rich keyboard, and the only one available in two colors.
The new m4 iMac includes these USB-C accessories, but you can also buy them entirely separately.
The new USB-C Magic Keyboard is available for immediate purchase, with shipping options that will get you yours in the next few days.
You might even be able to start using yours before Apple announces the anticipated M4 Mac mini update in the coming days.
