The global rollout of Apple Vision Pro will continue in Taiwan on December 17.

Apple Vision Pro coming to Taiwan

Taiwan will join the short list of countries with Apple Vision Pro on December 17, following a round of pre-orders that began on December 5.

Apple’s first foray into spatial computing has been rolling out slowly since its launch in February 2024. With the addition of Taiwan, the Apple Vision Pro will be available in thirteen countries.

The news was reported on Taiwan’s localized Apple Newsroom, first spotted by MacRumors. The headset has proven a tough sell for Apple due to its high price and limited selection of native apps.

Spatial video content continues to roll out, but at such a limited rate that a user can watch everything available within an hour. The content is interesting, but not enough to justify the $3,500 starting price.

The Apple Vision Pro is also available in the United States, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Australia, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and South Korea. Low sales volume is likely not a deterrent for Apple, but rumors suggest the cheaper model has been delayed until 2027 due to difficulties in bringing the price down without sacrificing features.

The same rumor suggests the M5 update to the Apple Vision Pro will arrive in mid-2025. Given that the original M2-powered model is still being produced worldwide and has seen limited demand, a successor is unlikely to arrive anytime soon.

Taiwan residents interested in purchasing the Apple Vision Pro can pre-order it on December 5, with first shipments and availability set to begin on December 17.
