A production database has revealed the first concrete evidence that Apple TV+'s breakout hit Ted Lasso is returning for a new season.
It was the show that created Apple TV+, and it was the show that even Tim Cook was hoping to bring back for another season after it appeared to end in 2022. Now, after initial rumors that the cast had signed on to return, the show has appeared on a TV industry list.
The production list maintained by the Film & Television Industry Alliance (FTIA) has now added “Ted Lasso (Season 4)” to its list of shows in production or development. Most of the details are redacted in the publicly available version, but it says filming will take place in London and unspecified locations in the United States.
It goes on to say that the filming date is January 6, 2025. There’s only one date, and it’s not listed as a start, but it’s not a one-day shoot like Ted Lasso’s pep talk with Stephen Colbert.
Aside from being listed as “Season 4,” the show is specifically listed as a series. Beyond that, the listing only provides a general description of the show.
The stated filming date is in line with the most recent rumors about the show, which said filming would begin in London from early 2025.
Neither Apple nor the show’s production company have announced a next season. Consequently, there are no details on how the story will progress or whether a fifth run will follow.
