Apple has renewed its post-apocalyptic drama Power for two more seasons, but the series will end after season four.

In 2021, Apple placed a series order for Silo, then titled Wool. Now, just under three years later, Apple TV+ has decided to end the series without giving the cast and crew a chance to finish the story.

On Monday, Apple announced that Silo had been picked up for a third and fourth season, which would allow the series to end in its fourth year. That’s significantly more attention than the recently canceled Time Bandits.

It’s currently unknown whether Silo was originally intended to be a four-season story or whether Apple pulled the plug early. Either way, it’s not surprising that the service would cancel a streaming-only series relatively early compared to broadcast TV.

Season 2 of Silo began airing on November 15 and will continue to air every Friday until January 17, 2025. Release dates for seasons 3 and 4 will be unknown for some time.

Apple renewed Silo for a second season in June 2023. Production on the series was halted a month later due to strikes by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA.

In April, Silo won two BAFTA Television Awards. It won Best Production Design and Best Original Score.

Season 1 began airing on May 5, 2023.
