Report: These 10 New AI Features Coming to iOS 18

iOS 18 and macOS 15 will offer a number of new artificial intelligence features, such as automatic emoji creation, suggested replies to emails and messages, and more, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports.


A significant portion of Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is expected to be dedicated to artificial intelligence features. In his latest “Power On” newsletter, Gurman explained that Apple's AI strategy emphasizes delivering practical tools to everyday users, as well as new features for core apps like Safari, Photos and Notes. Apple will apparently use artificial intelligence to implement the following new features:

  • Photo retouching.
  • Voice note transcription.
  • Suggested replies to emails and messages.
  • Automatically generated emoji based on the content of user messages, providing completely new emoji for any occasion, beyond the existing catalog.
  • Improved Safari web search.
  • Faster, more reliable search in Spotlight
  • A more natural experience with Siri
  • A more advanced version of Siri, designed for Apple Watch and optimized for real time. current tasks.”
  • Smart summaries of missed notifications and individual messages, web pages, news articles, documents, notes, and more.
  • Developer tools for Xcode.

Synthetic features intelligence that requires less processing power will run entirely on the device, while more demanding tools will run through the cloud. Apple will apparently tout the privacy benefits of this plan.

Apple is allegedly considering promoting many of its new artificial intelligence tools as “preview versions,” at least in beta versions of iOS 18 ahead of its release. official launch in September. to make it clear that the technology is not complete.
