Redesigned Mac mini and M4 Pro leaks: up to 14 CPU cores, 20 GPU cores, 64GB RAM, Mac Studio-like front ports

Update: It's official.

We already know that Apple will be unveiling the start of its M4 Mac lineup this week. The M4 iMac was the first M4 Mac to be announced, and M4 versions of the MacBook Pro are also expected this week, along with an updated Mac mini. However, we won't have to wait for the official announcement to get our first look at the new Mac mini. We now also know the key specs of the yet-to-be-announced M4 Pro chip.

As part of its M4 iMac comparison page, Amazon has already leaked the key specs of the M4 Mac mini. This includes a visual that gives us a glimpse at the more compact Mac mini's design, similar to the Mac Studio.

The M4 Mac mini will come with an M4 Pro variant, which is also being revealed for the first time. According to the comparison page, the M4 Mac mini can be configured with a 14-core processor, 20-core GPU, 64GB of RAM, and an 8TB SSD. The front ports appear to be two USB-C ports and possibly a 3.5mm headphone jack.

By comparison, the M2 Pro Mac mini can be configured with a 12-core processor, 19-core GPU, and 32GB of RAM.

We expect the new Mac mini to be announced on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. For now, this clip art of the new design gives us an idea of what to expect: a compact Mac Studio with professional performance.

Finally, the comparison chart suggests there will be no Mac Studio update this week. That's in line with our expectations.

Here's the comparison chart featured in the Amazon listing for the new M4 iMac:
