iPhone 12 users are running out of time to use Apple's free service program

Apple launched its service program for the first time in 2021 to repair faulty iPhone 12 and 12 Pro devices for free. Now, almost three years later, the review is coming to an end. Follow the steps below to get all the information, including checking your device's eligibility.

The iPhone 12 Audio Replacement Program began in August 2021 with Apple. extending its validity from two to three years in August 2022.

The affected devices were manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021. Thus, the last of the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro devices with the defect will work for now. no longer entitled to free repairs at the end of April 2024.

The sound problem is caused by a faulty receiving module of the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro.

How to check iPhone 12 for silent recall eligibility

  • This utility iPhone 12 and 12 Pro only(not iPhone 12 mini or Pro Max)
  • Your iPhone 12 may be eligible for a free repair if the sound doesn't work when you make or receive calls
  • Apple does not offer a serial number checker for this program, so you will need to contact Apple Support to check if your iPhone is working.

Apple notes that this program does not extend the regular warranty on the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, but does cover receiver failure for “3 years after the device is first sold at retail.”
