Mount your iPad on the wall and charge it with the Smart Connector

Kuxiu offers a range of magnetic charging pads for iPad, and the wall-mounted version has Finally arrived. Here are my impressions of this variation of the stand.
When Kuxiu started adding Smart Connector pins to their line of charging stands, I knew it would be a game changer. Previously, you had to attach the iPad and then plug in a cable for power, but now that’s no longer necessary.
I’ve already reviewed the line of traditional stands and clamp mounts from Kuxiu and Lululook with the new wireless charging option, but one thing was missing. The screw-on wall mount on the swing arm didn’t make the jump to wireless charging until recently.
I’ve liked Kuxiu’s folding stands before, but only the tabletop ones. I had the idea of a wall stand, but I didn’t want to deal with the power issue.
The X36W Pro Max solves the power issue with the Smart Connector, and now I have the perfect stand for my use case. Note that to deliver power via the Smart Connector, the stand emulates a keyboard, so the numeric keypad will not appear without notice when using these powered stands.
Magnetic Wall Mounted iPad Charger
I use my iPad in bed, usually the iPad mini, but I like the lightweight and size of the 13-inch iPad Pro. However, lying down with such a large display is impractical.
Run the charging cable through the charging stand and forget about it
So I installed the Kuxiu X36W Pro Max stand above my bed. Yes, I installed it upside down, but I didn't bother fixing it because it doesn't depend on direction except for the logo placement. Don't mind the ugly old wall panels.
I wasn’t sure what to think of the new stand and placement, but it worked out great. The arm folds down to discreetly secure the tablet mount to the wall. It sticks out from the wall a little, but not enough to be an issue when I’m in bed.
For those of you asking, no, it’s not an issue for my partner, and it doesn’t create any space-crowding issues. I like to use the mount when I’m scrolling through my social media feeds, watching videos, or reading a book.
Mounting the tablet above my bed like this is the perfect gaming setup. I can grab a nearby controller and play games on my iPad or stream from my PS5 remotely, all from the comfort of my own home without having to worry about iPad placement or charging cables.
Fold the stand down when not in use
Of course, that’s just my use case. This mount is great for the kitchen, above the table, or in the workshop. The mount is wide and easy to maneuver.
Unlike the Desk Stand, the mount is very loose and the joints are easy to manipulate. You only need two hands to rotate the iPad or move the mount more than 180 degrees at any joint.
Charging via the Smart Connector is slow, but slow enough to prevent the iPad’s battery from draining while in use. This makes it easy to move your iPad from room to room and keep it charged.
