Action-adventure game “Control Ultimate Edition” will be coming to macOS early next year, with a release date set for February 12, 2025.
Control Ultimate Edition from Remedy Entertainment is one of the main games that has been referenced multiple times as part of Apple’s push to bring gaming to the Mac. Remedy’s presentation at Capital Markets Day on Tuesday revealed when the game will be coming.
The presentation to investors and analysts mentioned that Control Ultimate Edition will be coming to the Mac on February 12, 2025. The news was also part of a summary on the developer’s Bluesky account.
Control is a third-person action game that drops the player into a mysterious building in New York City that serves as the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Control. The FBC deals with supernatural objects and events, but it has been taken over by an unknown threat, causing the building to go on lockdown.
The player is immediately put in charge of the facility as the new director, and quickly gains their own powers by interacting with special objects like sentient weapons and a deadly refrigerator. They are then tasked with cleaning up the mess and saving the organization from an attack.
Originally released in 2019, Control received critical acclaim, as well as a number of downloadable content missions after release.
