Apple has expanded its investigation into the “ghost touch” problem on Apple Watch and now acknowledges that this bug is affecting more models.
Apple Watch ghost touch is a serious problem caused by unintentional touches or movements on the screen that the device registers. Apple does not take these reports lightly and has launched a thorough investigation to determine the cause and find a solution.
Ghost touch was initially observed on Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models. However, it has now been revealed that it also affects Apple Watch Series 7, Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra 1 models, according to a reliable source of information “Fudge” on X.

The ghost touch issue has become a source of confusion for both users and technical experts. This forces the Apple Watch to activate or navigate menus without physical prompts.

How to fix Apple Watch ghost touch
To resolve the phantom touch issue, Apple recommends a special procedure. Users are advised to force restart their watch by holding the Digital Crown and Side button until the Apple logo appears.
This temporary fix is intended to mitigate the effects of ghost touch. It's also important to regularly update your watch to the latest version of watchOS.
Apple is expected to release a more permanent fix in watchOS 10.4, so Apple is likely avoiding offering replacement devices for now. Weird bugs like ghost touch also can't be fixed with a single update, at least not for all models, so a temporary fix is welcome.
