The holiday shopping season is just around the corner, and Apple is offering some big incentives for users who make more purchases with their Apple Card through a new promotion. Here's what you need to know.
Big Increase in Daily Cash Possible at High Spending Levels
A new Apple Card promotion is being offered to select users to earn up to 5% cash back on all purchases during the promotional period. That's more than the standard 1% cash back that applies to non-Apple Pay purchases.
However, you'll have to make significant spends to reach that higher rewards tier.
Julie Clover writes for MacRumors:
To unlock the Daily Cash Back promotion, users will need to spend between $5,000 and $15,000. At $5,000, you’ll unlock three percent Daily Cash. Spending $10,000 will unlock four percent Daily Cash, and spending $15,000 will unlock five percent Daily Cash.
You’ll need to spend at least $5,000 to receive the bonus, and it’s not retroactive, so it will only apply to purchases made after you reach each spending limit.
Luckily, while the promotion starts just before the holidays, it’s actually going to run for much longer: from November 6, 2024, to April 30, 2025.
So even if you don't hit the $15,000 mark right away, you can still earn some serious cash rewards early in 2025. The bonus money applies to purchases totaling up to $50,000.
The catch, of course, is that not all Apple Card users are eligible. Apple says the offer is “limited to select Apple Card users, who will receive a notification in the Wallet app.”
Steps to ensure you don't miss the promo invite
There are two steps you'll need to take before November 6 to verify your eligibility.
- Make sure notifications are turned on for the Wallet app, which can be found in Settings ⇾ Notifications ⇾ Wallet.
- Go to your Apple Card, then tap the three dots in the upper right corner and open Rewards & Bonuses. Suggests to check out the offer there.
9to5Mac's Take
I haven't been notified of the offer yet. Honestly, it sounds too good to be true, so I wonder how many users will receive the invitation from Apple.
Apple is probably targeting users who have an Apple Card but don't use it often, trying to change their spending habits. On the contrary, I already use my Apple Card often. But I'm still crossing my fingers in the hopes of receiving this invitation in the coming days.
Have you received the Apple Card promo offer? If so, how often do you use your Apple Card? Let us know in the comments.
