The iPhone 17 Slim will feature a new design and a 6.6-inch display, an analyst claims, as rumors of a thin smartphone continue to swirl.

The iPhone 17 Slim is expected to be the new thinner model in the lineup, set to launch alongside the other iPhone 17 models in late 2025. With the potential launch a year away, analysts and insiders continue to predict what the new model will offer consumers.

The research note from Haitong International鈥檚 Jeff Pu covers a number of areas that have been previously rumored. This includes the use of a 6.6-inch display for the new model, which will apparently take the Plus model鈥檚 place on the list.

At the heart of the device will be the A19 chip, which Pu says will use the 3nm process that TSMC used to produce the A18 Pro in the iPhone 16 Pro models. It will apparently have 8GB of storage, rather than the 12GB that the Pro models might get, as Pu claimed in May.

As for the thin model鈥檚 design, Pu suggests it will be made of aluminum. This should help the already thin device be much lighter than the titanium Pro models, but Apple will have to be careful to avoid any issues related to bending.

The cameras will consist of a single 48-megapixel rear sensor, Pu expects, while the front will have Face ID support and a 24-megapixel camera.

Pu adds that the model should have an entirely new design compared to previous versions.

While Pu is one of the most prolific Apple rumor mills, accuracy is not his strong point, having previously been wrong about Apple鈥檚 release dates. This time, however, his observations seem to line up with other rumors and comments about the model.
