New owners of the iPad Pro M4 are complaining about a problem due to which Visible grainy artifacts appear on the display.

Consumers looking to get started with the new tablets are already starting to get the iPad Pro with the M4. But while the Tandem OLED system promises bright images, some users are finding obvious problems with the display.

Some Reddit users experience a grainy appearance when viewing content. The texture is visible and very noticeable upon close inspection, especially in dark rooms.

In one set of screenshots provided on the site, grain was clearly visible when viewing dark menu items.

While there appear to be some issues with displays, this may not be a big deal for many . iPad Pro buyers. The need to specifically search for grain becomes a problem only for a small percentage of device owners.

Possible Mura effects

There are no official comments from Apple regarding user reports yet, so it’s unclear what exactly is causing the problem. However, this may be the so-called Moore effect or clouding.

The Mura effect is an unevenness between pixels that often occurs when the screen is not properly lit. For example, if a pixel receives too little voltage, its appearance may differ from another located next to it.

The effect is especially noticeable in LCD screens that use a backlight, as well as in the self-illuminating pixels of OLED panels.

There are several main causes of Moore, and they are mainly related to production. Displays made up of multiple layers can sometimes be laid out less than perfectly.

It is also possible that some kind of contamination occurred during production, again affecting the crystals of the OLED panel.

Moura is a very common problem that affects many manufacturers and suppliers and is often impossible to avoid. In many cases, Mura effects are not actually considered a display panel defect.

Since these cases occur in dark UI elements, it is likely that this is a Mura issue. However, it is unlikely that Apple will be able to immediately solve the problem in the short term.
