Players receive a 40 point bonus for finding all four quartiles. </p> <h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-game-center-leaderboard-integration-for-apple-news-games">Game Center leaderboard integration for Apple News+ games</h3> <p>We launch Quartiles at the same time in the Apple News application – this is the integration of the Game Center leaderboard. The Game Center integration applies not only to Quartiles, but also to other games such as Crossword. Confirming this, new display firmware has been discovered in iOS 17.5, and these new firmware files have only been added for the aforementioned 2024 iPad Pro models. </p> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">2024 iPad Pro codenames</h3> <p>Thanks to iOS 17.5, the code names of the new iPad Pro models have also become known. Periwinkle, a flower in the periwinkle family, qualifies for DP875, while Gaenari, the Korean bluebell, qualifies for STUUP1.</p> <h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-oled-panel-suppliers ">OLED Panel Suppliers </h3> <p>iOS 17.5 confirms that there are two OLED display providers in the upcoming iPad Pro update, which is not surprising. Display firmware for both LG (LGD) and Samsung (SDC) has been discovered.</p> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">11-inch iPad Pro in limited quantities</h3> <p>Analyst Ross Young previously reported that Samsung will only produce 11-inch iPad Pro panels, which could mean limited supply of 11-inch iPad Pro models. Several notable releases in the iPhone lineup have led to the upcoming release of the 2024 OLED iPad Pro.</p> <p>We see how Apple's display technology has improved on the iPhone and how that could translate to the iPad Pro. The 2024 iPad Pro display will likely be sold as a Super Retina XDR display. However, don't forget that Apple has a couple of secrets regarding the display technology, so this could also lead to some unusual new labeling name.</p> <p> iPhone X Super Retina HD Display iPhone 11 Pro Super Retina XDR Display iPhone 13 Pro Super Retina XDR Display iPhone 15 Pro Super Retina XDR Display </p> <h4 class="wp-block-heading">iPhone X</h4> <p>The OG OLED display for the iPhone, the iPhone X, featured stunning black levels thanks to this technology and an impressive contrast ratio of 1,000,000. However, the device lacked support for HDR content and peak brightness was only 600 nits. The iPhone X display was marketed as a Super Retina HD display.</p> <h4 class="wp-block-heading">iPhone 11 Pro</h4> <p>With the release of the iPhone, the iPhone gained HDR support. 11 Pro with 800 nits typical brightness and 1200 nits HDR. It also showed a significant increase in contrast – 2,000,000:1. As a result of these advances, Apple has labeled the iPhone 11 Pro's display as a Super Retina XDR display.</p> <h4 class="wp-block-heading">iPhone 13 Pro</h4> <p>iPhone 13 Pro features Pro Motion support for the first time on iPad and increased the maximum typical brightness to 1000 nits.</p> <h4 class="wp-block-heading">iPhone 14 Pro/iPhone 15 Pro</h4> <p>The iPhone 14 Pro has a significant increase in HDR peak brightness from 1200 to 1600 nits. It also gained the ability to become even brighter in sunlight up to 2000 nits.</p> <h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-new-apple-pencil-3">New Apple Pencil 3</h3> <p>The new Apple Pencil is expected to launch alongside the new iPad Pro models. As we previously reported, Apple Pencil 3 will support Find My Network to make recovery easier if lost. </p> <p>There are also rumors of interchangeable magnetic tips for various art applications and an update to PencilKit, PencilKit 3, which will add new features to the Apple Pencil. Few people outside of Apple know what these capabilities are, but some features will likely require the new Apple Pencil 3 hardware.</p> <h4 class="wp-block-heading">Apple Pencil squeeze gestures</h4> <p>The second generation Apple Pencil included a double-tap gesture to switch between the current tool and the eraser, display inking attributes, color palettes, and more. Apple Pencil 3 will improve on this functionality by including pressure-sensitive gestures for the first time. .</p> <p>New developments discovered in IOKit indicate that the Apple Pencil 3 will support multiple “grip” with pressure sensitivity. gestures including Squeeze, LongSqueeze and DoubleSqueeze. It looks like the Apple Pencil 3 will be a significant upgrade over the 2nd generation Apple Pencil, unlike the weird USB-C version of the Apple Pencil we saw last year.</p> <h3 class="wp -block" -heading">New Magic Keyboard</h3> <p>Details are few and far between, but we'll also be getting a new Magic Keyboard, as first reported by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. This new keyboard will reportedly be more laptop-like and have a larger trackpad.</p> <p>In my video review above, I talk about how Apple can achieve this. Apple could ditch the dual hinge of the first generation Magic Keyboard and create a new single hinge design that would allow the iPad to always rest entirely on the back of the second generation Magic Keyboard. This will move the keys further towards the display, making room for larger palm rests and a larger trackpad. </p> <p>Gurman notes that the base of the updated Magic Keyboard will be made of aluminum, which should provide a more durable base. In addition to the reduced weight of the iPad Pro, this may be enough to solve any counterbalance issues that might arise with a single-hinge design.</p> <p>Of course, the new iPad Pro should also include a landscape camera. such as the 10th generation iPad, which will further support the company's laptop aspirations. Now all we need is to increase the bandwidth between the Magic Keyboard and the iPad Pro to support higher bandwidth USB-C connections and achieve the laptop's goals.</p> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"> 9to5Mac’ Our approach</h2> <p>iOS 17.5 contains several new user changes and features that should appeal to iOS users, but the bigger story is the latest details about iPad Pro that are revealed in these updates.
