Apple has released firmware update version 6.0 for AirPods Max, which focuses on general improvements and bug fixes.
On Tuesday, Apple released new AirPods Max firmware under build number 6A325. This is compared to 6A324, released in January.
Apple did not provide detailed release notes for the firmware update. The notes only say that the update is focused on bug fixes and general improvements.
New firmware is installed automatically for users, and there is no mechanism to force a manual update. The firmware will install itself as long as the AirPods are connected to an iOS or macOS device.
How to check the AirPods firmware version
AirPods users can check the current firmware of audio accessories in the Settings app by following these steps:
- Open the Settings app.
- Select General.
- Select About.
- Select the AirPods you want to view.
- A menu will appear with relevant device information.
