Tim Cook sneaks into Apple Vision Pro promo, congratulating Porsche

New Porsche Racing Cockpit App for Apple Vision Pro

Porsche has released a new electric car Taycan Turbo GT and announced the Race Engineer Cockpit app for Apple Vision Pro.

Porsche is already working with Apple to bring CarPlay to older cars and further integrate it into future versions of the app. In unveiling the new Taycan Turbo GT EV, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume also thanked Apple for its partnership.

The performance included breaking the lap record for electric vehicles, and part of Porsche's presentation showed Blume watching the event in an Apple Vision Pro. In addition to watching TV reports, Blum could also watch the view from the car, as well as constantly updated data.

“Congratulations to you and the Porsche team on the new record you set with this incredible new car,” said Tim Cook in the Porsche video. “It’s extraordinary milestones like these that show the world what can happen when a team of incredibly dedicated people comes together to break new ground in realizing a big idea.”

“Porsche has always been renowned for its excellence, and we are proud that a number of our products play an important role in what you do,” he continued. “And it’s so exciting to see Apple Vision Pro help us think about tracking in a new way.”

“I deeply believe that spatial computing has the potential to revolutionize virtually every industry,” he continued. “And you show one of the many ways Apple Vision Pro will make the impossible possible.”

Blume has announced that its racing app will be available to Apple Vision Pro users. “I'm sure we'll have a few surprises for you,” he added.

In 2020, the Porsche Taycan became the first car to be fully integrated with Apple Music. In addition to accessing the service in the car, Porsche announced that it will create special playlists for it.
