Peloton will continue to support Apple GymKit integration after customers reacted negatively to the fitness company's plans to scrap the feature.

Peloton announced Monday that it will no longer support Apple's health data sharing service GymKit on Apple Watch. Instead, the company wanted to bring users into its own app.

Now, on Thursday, just three days later, the company backtracked, as Connect the Watts noted. Following extensive customer feedback, Peloton sent out an email to customers stating that it will continue to support Apple GymKit for Bike+.

“Earlier this week we announced that we were going to discontinue the Apple GymKit integration for Bike+,” the email said. “We heard you loud and clear, this is an important feature for you. Based on your feedback, we will continue to support this integration.”

The email reminds users that GymKit can be used for cycling training on Bike+ for Full Access members. It also reminds users that they can use Peloton One-Tap Tracking, its own fitness tracking service.

Apple released GymKit with watchOS 4.1 in October 2017. It first appeared in gym equipment in Australia, then in London, and then finally arrived in the US in December 2017.
