Apple is rumored to have changed the direction of the iPad mini's screen assembly to reduce the effects of the design flaw of jelly-like scrolling. Despite this improvement, the iPad mini 7 display will still be limited to 60Hz and will use LCD screen technology.
Jelly scrolling is when half of a device's display refreshes noticeably slower than the other half. This results in a sort of wobbling effect, hence the name “jelly scrolling”. Apple is currently fighting a class-action lawsuit that claims a scrolling display issue renders the iPad mini 6 “unusable.”
