Blackmagic's New Camera for Spatial Video
0 Facebook x.com Reddit
We may see more movies shot for the Apple Vision Pro now that there's a Blackmagic camera, and maybe we'll see different cameras on the iPhone 17 Slim, but we'll never see an end to Apple's nonsense on the TikTok.
There's also the never-ending and sometimes escalating set of rumors about Apple making foldable devices. This time, it's claimed we'll see a foldable iPad Pro, but it's definitely not coming anytime soon, and co-host Wesley Hilliard has reasons to lower our expectations that it'll happen at all.
What is definitely happening is that Apple's Vision Pro is getting more entertainment in the form of short films and documentaries. However, this is also definitely happening too slowly, so the launch of a dedicated spatial video camera from Blackmagic is welcome – even if it is so expensive that only studios will be able to afford it.
Then, while we wait for the Apple Vision Pro’s incredibly immersive 3D video environments, we can watch TikTok’s six-second portrait videos. There’s a little subgenre that’s emerged lately that treats Apple’s craziest allegations of misconduct with the kind of dead seriousness that only hysterical videos can withstand.
