Ticketmaster claims to be the first ticketing company to support the way Apple Wallet displays key event information in iOS 18.
In addition to features like rewards balances, Apple Wallet in iOS 18 also added new features specifically for event tickets. Now, Ticketmaster has announced support for the updated wallet, starting with the Los Angeles Football Club home game on October 19, 2024.
“With the new, improved ticketing experience in Apple Wallet, fans are closer to the action from the moment they add their pass to their iPhone,” said Mark Yovich, president of Ticketmaster. “We’re incredibly proud to be working with Apple to bring fans this enhanced ticketing experience.”
The new features aim to provide key information and make it accessible to event-goers. Ticketmaster will support the following information:
- Venue map
- Parking details
- Weather forecasts
- Quick access to location sharing
When available, Ticketmaster’s event listing in Apple Wallet will also display the associated Apple Music playlist.
That's one element that varies by event, but there are others. Sports teams and venues can add links to websites or apps with tickets.
After the Los Angeles Football Club, the next event to support features through Ticketmaster will be the Miami HEAT. The company says the “experience will become more accessible in 2025.”
Apple Wallet's iOS 18 update follows the company's addition of features in 2023 that are exclusive to the UK.
