Meta is working on a slew of new features for Threads, its microblogging platform, and another one is coming soon. Now, the company has announced a long-awaited option that will allow users to schedule posts for later.
The Option to Schedule Posts in Threads
As announced on the official Threads social media account, the scheduling feature is currently being tested with a small group of users. Meta says it will be rolling out to all Threads users “soon,” though no date has been set yet.
With this feature, Threads users can create a post and then schedule it to publish at a later time or date. Once the feature is available, it can be found by tapping the three-dot button in the post editor. Scheduled posts will appear in the drafts folder, along with a label indicating the time the post was scheduled for. Scheduled posts can be edited or deleted before they are published.
Meta appears to have been ramping up its development of new features for Threads lately, which coincides with its rival platform Bluesky seeing significant growth. Earlier this month, the company began allowing users to follow other users, albeit with limitations. Threads also now allows users to watch videos in landscape orientation and choose a custom feed to watch by default.
The Threads app is available for free on the App Store. Make sure you have the latest version of the Threads app to access new features like the new ability to schedule posts.
