This new app on the App Store emulates 38 different retro gaming platforms.

RetroArch is now officially available for iOS via the App Store

RetroArch, the popular multi-platform emulator is now officially available on iPhone and iPad, giving gamers the ability to play their favorite legacy games on the go.

After emulators like PPSSPP, Delta, and Gamma hit the App Store, Apple has completed evaluation of another emulator app.

The long-awaited RetroArch emulator can be installed on any iPhone or iPod Touch running iOS 14.2 or later, and is also available on iPadOS.

Gaming enthusiasts will now be able to enjoy their favorite games on various Apple devices, but they will have to purchase them independently and legally since RetroArch only comes bundled with the game 2048.

Famous and overall popularity RetroArch is driven by its ability to emulate a wide range of legacy gaming consoles. The application can run games built for many older consoles and platforms through libretro cores.

The application is also open source, does not contain advertising and is available for free to all users. According to the App Store page, RetroArch supports a variety of features, including Made For iPhone (MFi) controllers, shaders, advanced latency control, and even AI translations.

RetroArch's App Store page states that the developer does not collect or track any user data from the app.

Previously, the application could be installed on jailbroken versions of iOS or through corporate distribution on standard versions of iOS. Apple has recently changed its approach to emulators, with more apps like RetroArch now available to everyone through the App Store.
