The second beta version of visionOS 2.2 for developers is finally out

Apple Vision Pro runs visionOS

A day after most other developer betas received new builds, visionOS 2.2 is now available to testers using the Apple Vision Pro.

On Monday, Apple released the third round of developer betas for iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS SZequoia 15.2, and also released the second builds of tvOS 18.2 and watchOS 11.2 for testing.

The group was missing visionOS 2.2, but it arrived a day later on Tuesday.

The second build is numbered 22N5784e. It replaces the first build, numbered 22N5778f, which was released on November 4.

New to this version is an updated Mac Virtual Display, which provides the ability to view the screen in an ultra-wide format. This is the equivalent of two 4K displays side by side.

AppleInsider and Apple strongly discourage users from installing test operating systems or other beta or RC software on “mission-critical” or primary hardware due to the remote possibility of issues that could result in data loss. Testers should therefore use secondary or non-primary devices and ensure they have adequate backups of any mission-critical data.
