The second beta version of VisionOS 1.2 for developers has been released

Apple Vision Pro owners can now test the second build of the VisionOS 1.2 operating system for developers.

The second build of VisionOS 1.2 appears after the first, which was released on April 2. The new build has build number 21O5565d and replaces the first beta, build number 21O5555e.

It's still unclear what exactly Apple changed in the new beta cycle, but the release notes mention changes that were made to address FaceTime call sync issues and notification interruption issues for some apps.

The VisionOS 1.1 release introduces features such as support for mobile device management, pin verification, and password changes. There have also been changes to the StoreKit and Swift user interface, the way personas are created, as well as improvements to EyeSight graphics and more.

Users are required to be a registered Apple developer. account to access the VisionOS beta, but this may be a free account rather than a paid version. Installation on Apple Vision Pro hardware is relatively simple once you have an account.

How to install VisionOS beta on Apple Vision Pro

  1. Open Settings
  2. Select General .
  3. Enable beta updates
  4. Select VisionOS Developer beta.

Developers may also be able to use the updated beta version of VisionOS in Xcode, in its VisionOS simulator

Keep in mind that there is currently no procedure for downgrading from the beta version of VisionOS to the release version, unless. you do not have a developer belt. Therefore, AppleInsider does not currently recommend using the VisionOS beta for non-developers.
