Apple is planning to release an all-new iPhone 17 model next year with a “significantly thinner” design, according to The Information. The report states that the device could be priced higher than the Pro Max model, which currently starts at $1,199, suggesting that the device will be a new high-end model in the lineup.

The device will supposedly have a “major redesign” similar to the iPhone X, and this could include moving the rear cameras to the top-left corner of the device to the “upper center” along with a narrower dynamic island. The device will have a display size of 6.1 to 6.7 inches, the report says. Other potential features mentioned include an aluminum body, an A19 processor, and an improved front-facing camera.

As part of this plan, the report states that Apple has no plans to release the iPhone 17 Plus next year, so the lineup will still consist of of four models.

Rumors of a thinner iPhone 17 model have swirled for the third time this month following reports from Apple supply chain analyst Jeff Pu and display expert Ross Young who said the device would have 6 .5-inch screen.

The report warns that Apple is still testing several designs for this new iPhone, and possible delays could push the device's release beyond 2025.
