Examples of Apple Intelligence in action.

Apple is rolling out the fourth round of developer beta testing for this generation, releasing new builds of iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2, as well as the third build of watchOS 11.2.

The fourth round comes after the third, which took place on November 11 for iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2. The second developer betas of tvOS 18.2 and watchOS 11.2 were released on the same day, and the second build of visionOS 2.2 was released a day later, on November 12.

Apple released the third builds of tvOS 18.2 and visionOS 2.2 on November 18.

The fourth builds of iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 have the build number 22C5142a, replacing 22C5131e. The fourth build of macOS Sequoia 15.2 is 24C5089c, up from 24C5079e, and the third beta of watchOS 11.2 is build 22S5094a.

For iOS and iPadOS, the main changes to Apple Intelligence were graphical, including the introduction of Genmoji and Image Playground. iPhone 16 owners can try out Visual Intelligence by asking questions using the iPhone camera.

Writing Tools, a previous addition to iOS and iPadOS, is getting a new API for third-party apps.

Siri has long-awaited ChatGPT integration for some queries. Apple is also making Apple Intelligence available in more regions.

Round three introduced a new feature where Find My adds Share Item Location, allowing users to share the location of an AirTag or other Find My-enabled accessory with third parties, including airlines, in the event of lost luggage.

AppleInsider and Apple strongly discourage users from installing test operating systems or other beta or RC software on “mission-critical” or essential hardware due to the remote possibility of issues that could result in data loss. Testers should therefore use secondary or non-essential devices and ensure they have adequate backups of any critical data.
