Evidence continues to mount that the Apple TV+ hit show 'Ted Lasso will return for a fourth season.

The latest hint comes from former cast member Nick Mohammed, who played assistant coach Nate Shelley on the hit show. Mohammed posted a video on X.com on January 16 to announce that some of the early dates of his upcoming UK tour would be postponed due to unspecified “filming.”

Mohammed was due to kick off the tour with The Pony Show, a live comedy show featuring music and magic.

In character as the show's eccentric protagonist Mr. Swallow, Mohammed explains in a short video that the reshuffling of some dates is due to “some filming that I couldn't reschedule.” In the video, he declines to say what exactly he'll be filming, but a partial “Believe” sign is visible at the end of the announcement, leaving no doubt.

Ted Lasso has become Apple TV+'s first big hit since a surprise Oscar win for its first original film, Coda. While Ted Lasso's third season ended with Ted (Jason Sudekis) announcing he was leaving to return home to Kansas, its ending was widely praised as a strong and emotional conclusion.

From Rumors to Industry Confirmation

One of the first big hints that the show could return for a fourth season came from Apple CEO Tim Cook. Actor Jeremy Swift (who plays Leslie Higgins) recounted a conversation with Cook in which the CEO expressed hope for a fourth season.

In August 2024, the trade paper reported that Warner Brothers had picked up options on Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca), Swift, and Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent). There was no word on whether star Jason Sudekis had been approached, but he has previously expressed satisfaction with how the show ended.

In October 2024, Apple TV fan Sigmund Judge posted on X.com that Ted Lasso Season 4 would enter pre-production in January. Mohammed's announcement of the rescheduled theater dates suggests that pre-production is already underway, with contracts being signed for returns.

Shortly after Judge's report, the Film & Television Industry Alliance's production listing included “Ted Lasso (Season 4).” Filming took place in London and unspecified locations in the U.S., but no cast was announced.

Sudekis was reportedly satisfied with the show's original ending and has not yet expressed interest in reprising the role. His most recent production listing is voicing the title character in the 2024 film Hitpig!.
