Shazam can now run in the background using Live Activity.

Shazam appears on dynamic island on iPhone

The new version of Shazam 17.11 can continue to constantly listen to music for identification and now will display the results via Live Activity on iPhone.

Shazam has always been able to recognize music by listening to it, although it now listens longer than before and also recognizes classical music. But if users didn't stay in the Shazam app, it had to be launched and relaunched every time it was needed.

Now with Shazam 17.11, instead of having to start and stop Shazam every time, users can start it while working in other apps. When running, the music recognition software shows what it's listening to using Dynamic Island.

When a track is recognized, it will use Live Activity to display notifications about the last song detected.

Please note that the version of the application for iPhone and iPad has been updated. This requires iOS 15.0 or later or iPadOS 15.0 or later.

Apple Vision Pro also uses this version for iPad, but the Mac version has not been updated for several years.
