Apple has updated its iWork suite of apps, bringing Apple Intelligence to Numbers, Keynote, and Pages.
Apple's iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2 updates brought major changes to Apple Intelligence that Apple's iWork suite can now take advantage of.
Thursday's updates to Numbers, Keynote, and Pages now support new Apple Intelligence features that should help users work more efficiently.
Pages 14.3, Keynote 14.3, and Numbers 14.3 all have largely identical release notes, with a few minor tweaks to tie them together with each app.
The first listing is “Proofread, summarize, and compose text for your document with Writing Tools.” This is a convenience for users because it allows Apple Intelligence to proofread text to flag errors or issues.

In cases like using Pages for long passages of text, users can also ask Writing Tools to rephrase the entire passage to change its sound. For example, more informal or formal text that can be “witty,” “engaging,” and “empathetic.”
The second item states that the update can “create fun, original images for your document with Image Playground.” This is a tool that can generate images based on prompts as well as source images saved in Photos.

This is handy if you need to break up a large document full of numbers or text to make it more visually appealing. This is especially useful if you don’t have source images or don’t want to browse stock photo sites for content.
The last point says, “Siri can use ChatGPT to answer questions about content” in a document. Asking Siri a question in a document will trigger the option to send your request and the document to ChatGPT for a response.

This is more useful for Numbers and Pages, as documents can include a lot of text or data points that would take a long time for the average user to parse. If ChatGPT can answer a question about an extremely long contract, users could save a lot of time.
Updates for Numbers, Keynote, and Pages are now available in the App Store and Mac App Store as a free download.
