macOS Sequoia 15.3 beta 1 now available to developers

Apple has released a new software update for Mac users on the developer beta. macOS Sequoia 15.3 beta 1 is now available, coming five days after the public launch of macOS 15.2.

New beta arrives five days after big public launches

Apple follows a fairly standard release chronology for its software.

The company will publicly release a new version of the software to all of its users, then typically within a few days, a new beta update will arrive for developers.

Often, a public beta of this new software will then follow a day or two later.

Today's macOS 15.3 beta 1 deviates a bit from that trend. macOS 15.2 was released last Wednesday, and it took almost a full week for today's 15.3 beta to arrive. macOS 15.3 is currently only available to developers, but hopefully a public beta will follow in the coming days.

There are no known new features or additions to macOS 15.3 at this time, but we'll keep you updated on any changes we discover.

Install the macOS 15.3 beta or avoid it

If your Apple ID is connected to a developer account, you can start using the new macOS 15.3 software right now.

To install it, just:

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Go to General ⇾ Software Update
  3. Make sure the macOS Developer Beta appears under Beta Updates
  4. Click to download and install macOS 15.3

Related if If you've already been using the macOS 15.2 beta, there's a chance you aren't ready to install the new build.

Because macOS 15.3 is only in its first beta, it's likely to have more bugs and performance issues now than in subsequent betas.

So if you're not aware of new Mac issues, especially before the holidays, be sure to turn off beta updates on the Software Update screen.

Have you installed macOS 15.3? What changes have you discovered? Let us know in the comments.
