macOS Sequoia 15.2 beta 1 is now available to developers. It brings some of the most anticipated new Apple Intelligence features to the Mac, including ChatGPT integration, Image Playground, and more. Here's everything new.
macOS 15.2 beta arrives ahead of 15.1 public launch
iOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1 won't launch publicly until next week. But the next versions of the software are already here in beta form.
Along with the first betas for iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2, Apple has released an accompanying update to macOS Sequoia 15.2. These preview versions are expected to get full public launches in December.
The beta is currently only available to users with a developer account, with no public beta option. Registered developers can download and install it from the Software Update section of the System Preferences app on their Mac.
New features available in 15.2 beta 1
Today's beta introduces some of the most anticipated Apple Intelligence features.
Here's what's included:
- ChatGPT integration for Siri and Writing Tools
- Image Playground for creating original images
- An update to Writing Tools that lets you describe your edits
Genmoji, the AI-powered custom emoji feature, isn't available in Beta 1 yet. Hopefully we'll see it in a future release beta version soon, as it is included in iOS and iPadOS 18.2 beta 1.
These additions join the extensive list of Apple Intelligence features introduced in macOS Sequoia 15.1, including the new Siri, notification summaries, item removal, improved search in Photos, and more.
More new features and updates may be included in today's beta 1 release, in which case we'll be sure to let you know.
What's Not Included in Today's Beta
With the release of macOS 15.2, the vast majority of Apple Intelligence features introduced in June will be available to users.
Coming soon:
- Siri updates that include personalized contextual awareness, on-screen awareness, and new actions within and across apps
- priority notifications
It's still just a beta, but given how much attention has been paid to the phased rollout of Apple's AI features, it's impressive that it's only October and beta testers have already gotten a taste of almost all of Apple Intelligence's upcoming capabilities.
