iPhone SE 4 with Face ID will cost less than $500

Apple is planning a starting price for its upcoming fourth-generation iPhone SE model under $500, despite plenty of rumors that the more affordable device will receive a slew of upgrades.


According to a representative from Revegnus on X, the starting price of the fourth-generation iPhone SE in the US will either remain at the same starting price of $429 as the current price. model, or an increase of approximately 10% will be observed. Either way, Apple's intention is to keep the price below $500.

Last week, The Information reported that Apple plans to release an updated iPhone SE in spring 2025, which will remain the “cheaper” option in Apple's iPhone lineup. The design is said to be similar to the standard iPhone 14, which means Touch ID and the Home button will be replaced by Face ID and a notch on the display.

By the same principle, the iPhone SE 4 may have an OLED display instead of an LCD display, and the display size will increase from 4.7 inches to 6.1 inches. Other rumored features for the next iPhone SE include a USB-C port and an action button.

The panel prices for the iPhone SE 4 are said to be much lower than the supplier prices for the OLED displays used in the iPhone 15, as the panels for the SE will use legacy parts identical to those used in iPhone 15. iPhone 13 and iPhone 14, so suppliers won't have to make new investments in research and development. Display makers are believed to have been bidding for panels since at least August last year.
