By The iPhone 17 Slim is rumored to not have a telephoto lens on the back, with a report claiming it will still be a Pro-level feature in 2025.

The iPhone 17 Slim is said to include quite a few impressive features, but it will not be a Pro-level device. This means it will not get a telephoto lens at all.

A report from TheElec that LG Innotek will invest 375.9 billion won ($267.4 million) in new camera module production facilities discusses the target market for the modules. It reveals that the modules will be for the iPhone 17 generation, Apple鈥檚 2025 smartphone lineup.

The discussion explains that the cameras on the iPhone 17 will have better specs. However, the folded zoom of the telephoto lens will only be available on the two Pro models, as usual.

If true, this means that the iPhone 17 generation will get a dual-lens combo for the non-Pro versions, consisting of an ultra-wide lens and a standard wide-angle version. Since the rumored iPhone 17 Slim, the Fold or Air is considered a non-Pro model, so they will not get a telephoto lens.

This is to be expected given the manufacturing issues behind the Fold. At just 6mm thick, it would be difficult for Apple to include multiple bulky camera modules in the design.

Indeed, it is currently speculated that Apple may only include a single camera in the model due to space constraints.

While a single camera may be included, users will not necessarily lose out on two physical lenses. Since it already uses a high-resolution wide-angle lens crop to create a 2x zoom, it could reuse the Fold鈥檚 single-camera trick to simulate having two cameras.

The iPhone 17 Slim is also expected to feature an A19 chip, a 6.6-inch display, and a 24-megapixel front camera.
