iMessage, which Apple users use to send messages to each other, is not working for some users and messages are not delivered or take too long to send.
There are many reports of this issue on social media and a surge in Down Detector crash reports, but the Apple System Status page does not report a crash yet.
Update: Apple's status page says iMessage service has been restored, with the outage lasting approximately 45 minutes from 2:49 pm PT. until 15:35. Pacific time zone. Apple says FaceTime, HomeKit and Apple Messages for Business are affected.
