Here's our best look at the new iPad Pro display with nanotexture [Video]

As a result of yesterday evening, we published the first reviews of the M4 iPad Pro, which focus on the new OLED screens, the M4 chip and ultra-thin design. If you've been looking for more information about the new nanotextured glass option, a new video from Tyler Stallman can help.

Hands-on with the iPad Pro M4 with Nanotexture

In the video, Tyler shows some great comparisons between the standard display and display options with nanotexture. You can clearly see that the nano-texture coating is excellent at reducing glare. However, as the video explains, the nanotexture coating also “reduces contrast slightly at some angles”; and “blacks don’t always feel so rich”; compared to standard glass configuration.

Despite these side effects, Tyler says he still “prefers” the nanotexture option “in many ways.” The nanotexture also picks up fewer fingerprints than standard glass, he says.

What about using the Apple Pencil on a nanotextured surface? Tyler says it's “more like paper”; than before. “It has a light texture and durability that traditional glass simply lacks,” he says. he says.

Apple doesn't seem to have given many reviewers the nanotexture glass configuration of the iPad Pro — which is perhaps a sign that the company thinks most people should opt for the standard glass configuration. After all, the nanotexture option is only available in the 1TB and 2TB configurations.

You can watch Tyler's video below for a closer look at the iPad Pro M4; New display with nanotexture. Also below is a video from Chris Lawley, who also got a chance to preview a model of the nanotexture display.
