Google has updated its Calendar app on iPhone and iPad to include three handy lock screen widgets.
“What's next” to “View upcoming events and tasks”; Available in three configurations. There's a round widget that simply marks the time, and a 2×1 rectangular widget that includes the duration and title. You can also see this information in the widget space that appears above the time. When clicked, the Calendar events page opens, and Google notes that there are no events.
On the iOS home screen, Google Calendar already prompts “What?” s Next” in confirmations 1×1 and 2×1, as well as a helpful “What's next for the month view” message.
This combines lock screen widgets for other Workspace apps on iOS, including Drive and Gmail. Other Google apps that support this feature include Chrome, Google Search, Maps, News, Translate, and YouTube Music.
These lock screen widgets arrived today with version 24.7.0 of Google Calendar, although we had to restart our iPhone before they fully appeared.
