Apple has announced the opening of the Apple La Vaguada store in northern Madrid, which will be its fifth store in the city and first in a decade.
Just over a decade after opening its Apple Puerto del Sol store, Apple is opening a new retail store about 10 miles away. The new store is located on the top floor of Madrid’s La Vaguada shopping center on Monforte de Lemos Avenue.
Apple unveiled the store with a new Apple Store web page, which says it will open on Friday, November 28, 2024. “Let’s make cool things,” the translation of the new store page reads.
“Our new store in La Vaguada is almost ready,” it continues. “We really want to welcome you and help you bring your coolest ideas to life.”
Apple also launched a dedicated page to explore the city’s music and culture. It says the page features “a selection of the best content and entertainment to celebrate the launch of our new store in Madrid.”
In addition, the store also offers custom wallpaper. Well, the version you get when you download it depends on whether you used a Mac or an iPhone.
The opening of this store appears to have gone more smoothly than that of the upscale Apple Puerto del Sol. Before its opening in 2014, construction work was delayed when the remains of a 15th-century hospital were discovered during construction.
