Falling US demand means international rollout of Apple Vision Pro is inevitable

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims other countries will soon receive Apple Vision Pro, and says this is possible because demand in the US is weak.

In February 2024, Kuo noted that the Apple Vision Pro's delivery time had decreased significantly compared to the first few days. He concluded that this was due to low demand.

In a post on X on Wednesday, he said he was still expecting an international release right after WWDC.

Ming-Chi Kuo claims that overall demand is still low, but also that initial demand from early adopters has been higher than expected. In his full blog post, he says this early demand means component suppliers have increased production from 500,000–600,000 units to 700,000–800,000 units in a year.

In a more obvious point of view than he usually makes, Kuo says this increase in production is aimed at reducing delivery times.

Kuo also points to a low return rate, bolstering a previous report that just 1% of buyers returned the headset. Of those people, he said, a fifth returned the headset because they didn't know how to set it up.

Kuo also states the obvious, revealing that Apple is collecting user feedback to help with future releases of the Apple Vision Pro.

He previously said that the second Apple Vision Pro would go into mass production in 4Q25 or 1Q26. However, he also says that this release is about improving manufacturing, and a headset with new features may not be released until 2027.

Apple is expected to release the VisionOS update during WWDC 2024. The keynote will be broadcast live on June 10.
