Users are reporting that various meta apps are not working, including Instagram and Facebook, but this is not an issue for all users. .
Meta services appear to be down due to outages in New York and California. Small outages across the country indicate that this may be a server-side issue that should be resolved soon.
Messages about disruptions to Instagram and Facebook appeared on the Downdetector website at approximately 19:00. EST. It looks like Threads was also experiencing glitches, but it didn't show up in the tool until 8:00 p.m. EST.
Since the problem began, the number of crash reports has continued to increase. AppleInsider staff are reporting intermittent issues when trying to access affected meta apps on iPhone.
Meta has not released a statement regarding the outage. Expect services to be restored soon.
