Beats Unveils (PRODUCT)RED Solo 4 Headphones, But You Can't Buy Them

In addition to Apple's annual Apple Pay donation campaign in support of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, which is currently underway ahead of World AIDS Day, the company traditionally offers a number of its products under the (RED) branding.

While we recently noted that Apple has been trimming its (PRODUCT)RED portfolio over the past few years, yesterday the company's Beats brand announced a collaboration with British-Nigerian designer Yinka Ilori for a limited-edition (BEATS)RED Beats Solo 4 headphone.

Unfortunately, there's a catch: these new (BEATS)RED headphones are not available for sale as they are a custom product helping to raise awareness for World AIDS Day and the (RED) campaign.

According to Women's Wear Daily, Beats notes that the packaging design is a tribute to “resilience, community, and hope” that “blends traditional African aesthetics with contemporary design.” Ilori says his design celebrates “the collective effort of nurturing” and was inspired by “the metaphorical meaning of planting seeds and watching them grow into something beautiful.”
