Music fans will be able to relive their favorite artists' concerts as Apple Music now lets artists turn their setlists into playlists.

Apple’s new tool for musicians is detailed in Apple Music for Artists as a form of promotion. Music artists can share a playlist of their concert setlist with fans through their Apple Music page.

While this gives fans a chance to listen to songs from the concert and relive the experience at home, it’s also useful before the show. Fans will know which songs will be played in advance, so they’ll know if their favorite song will be played.

In addition to appearing on the artist page, the playlist can be used on social media to promote upcoming tour dates.

Apple says the artist’s image will make up the majority of the Set List playlist artwork, with the words “Set List” in a block at the top next to the Apple Music logo.

The easiest way for artists to create a Set List playlist is to keep their Bandsintown account up to date with tour dates. Upcoming tour dates for a band will also be able to link to their artist pages in Shazam, Spotlight Search, and Apple Maps.

To create a setlist playlist with Apple Music for Artists, users should go to Artist Content and select Artist Playlists to see all existing setlists. They can then tap the plus icon to create a new setlist, set the show type, add an event name, add an event from Bandsintown or manually, and then set a publish date.

Once created, artists can search for songs they played during the tour to add to the setlist. Covers or collaborations with other artists can also be included in the setlist playlist.

Once the tour has ended and the setlist is no longer needed, it can also be hidden from view. Hidden playlists remain as a draft on the Apple Music for Artists profile so they can be republished in the future.

The setlist will appear alongside many other playlists offered on Apple Music, including albums and curated selections curated by Apple's editorial team.
