MacBook Pro on the M5 can debut in 2025, while M6 and M6 chips and chips and M5 M7 will probably follow in the coming years.
Like M4, a new and improved M5 Apple chip, as expected, will appear in the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro at the end of 2025. According to the Bloomberg report on Thursday, however, the iPhone manufacturer is already working on several other chips planned for future iPad and Mac products.
, in particular, the report states that the M6 chip called “Komodo”, and the M7, internally called “Borneo”, are in the work. There is even they say that in the development there is an advanced system associated with the MAC on the chip known by the code name “Sotra”, although no additional details about the project were provided.
Presumably, Apple also has plans for new AI server chips that will replace the M2 Ultra, which the company currently uses to process the remote requests of Apple Intelligence. The report on December 2024 indicated that Apple is working with Broadcom. The approval was confirmed in an article on Thursday, which states that the project is called Baltra, and that it will be completed by 2027. In the case of implementation, the new chip AI will probably improve Apple reconnaissance functions, which will make them more powerful and competitive.
Apple's claims related to AI were everywhere. The report for March 2025 states that the company invested in NVIDIA AI servers for the development of artificial intelligence, while rumors in April 2025 said that the company can cooperate with the Japanese manufacturer of chips for its needs for Apple Intelligence.
As for the M5 chip, the previous reports indicated that it will debut in the MacBook Pro, which probably would not receive redesign in 2025. Then, recalculation of the iPad Pro will follow, and, as reported, testing will already pass.
M5 can even get to the Apple Vision Pro in 2025.
