Apple will allow third parties in the EU access to the iPhone's NFC chip

Apple has announced plans to open up iPhone's NFC technology to third-party mobile payment providers, allowing them to offer their services throughout the EU.<br>

Since the launch of Apple Pay in 2015, Apple has banned payments to third parties from using NFC technology (NFC) for contactless payments. Now the company plans to change that – at least in the European Union.

While Apple was first rumored to open access in December, the company has now officially said it will open access to the EU. .
