A medical device supplier with years of experience in medical headwear has introduced a new strap that will make the Apple Vision Pro significantly more comfortable.
Like other headsets, the Apple Vision Pro can become uncomfortable to wear over time, and part of that is due to the included strap. This has led to accessory makers creating their own more comfortable versions.
On Thursday, ResMed came to market with its own headband, the Kontor. It’s not ResMed’s first attempt at making a headband for a headset, but it is ResMed’s first for the Apple Vision Pro.
ResMed is best known for making medical devices to treat conditions like sleep apnea and COPD. This includes making masks that go with devices like CPAP machines, which are designed to be comfortable enough to wear overnight while the user sleeps.
Using that experience making medical headgear, ResMed has developed a design that’s designed to make using the Apple Vision Pro as comfortable as possible.
The Kontor headband uses a combination of materials exclusive to ResMed, so it’s gentle on the skin while also providing support. Data from thousands of 3D head and face scans was also used to design the strap to be as versatile as possible.
To help users extend their wearing time, the package also includes a set of modular counterweights designed to counterbalance the front-heavy nature of the headset.

Two head strap sizes are available: Standard is designed for Medium or Large Dual Loop Band users, and Small is designed for those using the Small Dual Loop Band.
The Kontor Head Strap will be available on Apple's online store in the US, UK and Australia for $119.95.
