If dubious rumors are to be believed, the next version of the Apple Vision Pro could be released by 2026 and cost half the price of the first model.

It is widely expected that Apple is working on creating subsequent versions of the Apple Vision Pro once it hits the market. Speculation about the next model continues, with a dubious claim about a second-generation model.

According to a post by @Revegnus1 on X on Friday, the second version of Apple Vision Pro will arrive in 2026.

The price of the headset is expected to be from $1,500. and 2500 dollars. If true, the headset could cost less than half the price of the first-generation model at the lower end of the $3,500 range.

The author on Twitter adds that he is part of SeeYa's Chinese supply chain. It is reported that samples of components from the network have already been sent to Apple for evaluation.

SK Hynix and Samsung are reported to be supplying LLW DRAM for the device. LLW is a low latency I/O DRAM, a form of memory that provides 128 GB/s of bandwidth per module.

Somewhat questionable

Twitter's statement is suspicious in many ways. To begin with, this account is only a few days old, so it has no real history to judge the accuracy of the rumors.

However, since its appearance on this account, in a short period of time it has managed to publish a number of messages about leaks and rumors. Most of the complaints are about Apple, although there is some discussion about Android and Samsung.

There is also a possibility that this is a previous leaker under the name Revegnus or @Tech_Reve, which has been the source of many rumors about Apple products. The @Tech_Reve account has previously made well-founded claims about the supply of Apple devices and discussed TSMC's 2nm process technology.

The @Tech_reve account has since been deactivated on X, supporting the theory that the @Revegnus1 account may have been the return of the source of the leak. But even then, there is no guarantee that it is the same source of information and not someone else using the same name as a quick way to gain authority.

Other rumors and speculation about a sequel to Apple's Vision Pro from leaders with a solid track record also point to a potential update as early as summer 2025, although it may last until 2026.

p>This means that the release date indicated in the message seems plausible, but of course does not concern the price.

There have also been statements that a cheaper headset model is in development, which could appear around the same time.

However, even this consumer version can reduce the price by only hundreds due to changes in components. One October report suggested that a much-improved consumer headset could cost less, but would still cost around $2,000.

The first generation Apple Vision Pro is also extremely expensive for Apple to produce. A so-called bill of materials compiled in February estimates the components cost about $1,542 per headset.

Unless Apple makes a significant breakthrough in cost savings, halving the price of the “Pro” model seems unlikely unless the consumer version can do the same.
