Apple TV+ premieres critically acclaimed Sundance film starring Lily Gladstone

Apple TV+ has secured global rights to the critically acclaimed series Fancy Dance. feature film debuting at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.

The film stars Killers of the Flower Moon Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated lead actress Lily Gladstone. The film is scheduled to begin streaming on Apple TV+ this year.

No Ordinary Dance tells the story of Jax, a Native woman raising the daughter of her missing sister, Rocky, on a reservation in Oklahoma. Jax is determined to find her missing sister while helping Rocky prepare for the powwow.

Despite the risk of losing custody of Jax, the couple hit the road to find Rocky's mother. What begins as a quest turns into an in-depth investigation into indigenous women living in a colonized world with a broken justice system.

“Our film No Ordinary Dance has found the perfect home at Apple, and I am thrilled to share this beautiful story of two Seneca-Cayuga women with global audiences,” director Erica Tremblay said in a press statement.

“Uncommon Dance” will join “Killers of the Flower Moon,” which is streaming premiered on Apple TV+ in January after a successful theatrical run. “Fancy Dance” will debut at an unknown date.
