Apple will donate an undisclosed amount to Hurricane Milton relief efforts, the company announced Thursday.

Just weeks after the devastating Hurricane Helen, Hurricane Milton caused even more widespread damage, widespread power outages, and catastrophic flooding in many parts of Florida.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said Apple plans to donate an undisclosed amount to relief efforts. Cook made the announcement via social media platform X on Thursday.

He made a similar announcement about the donation for Hurricane Helen, as Apple often donates to disaster relief. In 2022, Apple donated to relief efforts for Hurricane Yen.

As of the time of this publication, at least 12 people have died as a result of the hurricane, although the death toll is likely to rise in the near future as rescuers discover more victims.

Hurricane Milton made landfall as a Category 3 storm near Siesta Key, Florida, on Wednesday. Dangerous wind gusts of over 120 mph were recorded in the area. This comes just two weeks after the widespread destruction caused by Hurricane Helene.

Apple has a history of donating to disaster relief efforts, such as when Tim Cook announced in May 2024 that the company would donate to flood relief in Brazil. In 2023, Apple made a donation to help wildlife on the island of Maui.
